Shots Fired At University Of Texas, Gunman Kills Self With AK-47 At University Of Texas

A reported shooting has happened at the University of Texas.According to Texas news station KVUE, a gunman fired an AK-47 on the campus of University of Texas-Austin at around 8 a.m. this morning.UT student Andrew McWaters told the news station that he heard “four gunshots” while walking near the library around 8:10 this morning.He then says he came face to face with one of the suspects, who had on a black ski mask that “smiled” at him and said,“Whoohooo.”Other students corroborate his story, saying they saw a gunman wearing a ski mask and a business suit.UT Police confirm that the gunman is dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound but say they are still searching for a second suspect.The campus is currently on lockdown and a SWAT team is on the scene.No injuries have yet to be reported.No other injuries by gunfire have been reported and campus emergency medical services is not treating anyone at this time.UT Spokesman Don Hale told the Statesman that the gunman "apparently took his own life" on the sixth floor of the Perry-Castaneda Library. Hale said the gunman did not have identification on him. No further information is known about the gunman.
